INSTRUCTIONS FOR SUBMISSIONS TO THE
11th Biennial SSHD Conference
Stress, Resilience, and Character Development.
Stress may have long-term implications for a number of areas in the developmental sciences, including personality, family dynamics, cognition, health and well-being. However, there are many different types of resilience, which may mitigate the effects of stress, and even promote growth, including character development.
The 11th Biennial SSHD Conference welcomes submissions examining this year’s theme, Stress, Resilience, and Character Development. However, submissions are not restricted to this theme – symposia and posters are welcome on any aspect of development, at any stage of the life span or life course. We especially welcome submissions incorporating diverse scientific frameworks, including interdisciplinary scholarship.
If you are ready to submit, go to the Abstract Submission page.
Two types of submissions will be considered: Symposium and Posters.
Deadline to Submit Symposia Abstracts is April 12, 2019. Deadline to Submit Poster Abstracts is May 1, 2019.
A symposium will be 1 hour and 15 minutes. It begins with brief opening comments by the Chair followed by either three presenters and a discussant or four presenters. This format is designed to allow ample time for discussion at the conclusion of the presentations. To submit a Symposium, please visit the Abstract Submission page, download the symposium abstract template, and follow the instructions on that page.
Poster submissions should be limited to abstracts of 250 words and present scientific findings accessible to a variety of audiences. To submit a Poster, please visit the Abstract Submission page, download the poster abstract template, and follow the instructions on that page.
